Changing lives. One hire at a time.

'' Every hire is a human story, not just a role to fill''.

Julia is a Senior Corporate Recruiter at ACT. For the past five years, she has been both hands and eyes in the company’s growth. Helping design, connect, and scale ACT from an ambitious start-up into a global organization.
Could you tell us a bit more about your background? I come from hospitality, which is quite a different environment. I discovered recruitment unexpectedly, but rapidly, I recognized familiar skills: building relationships, staying calm in challenging situations, and taking care of people in fast-paced environments. It felt like a natural transition, something I wanted to try.

Why did you join ACT? The people. From the start, I connected with the team, and the vibe in general. It felt authentic and aligned with how I like to work. Back then, how did you experience your first days? Very unusual! On my first day, the government announced a lockdown. I was fully ready to start, but from home. The first few months were a bit strange, but they pushed me to adapt quickly and become independent early on.
Would you say your role evolved since then? Definitely, I joined as a Strategic Sourcer and grew into a Senior Recruiter as the company scaled. Over time, our team had to always find new strategies, step-ups and become more expert, my scope broadened significantly. Today, I recruit across multiple departments, carry-on projects and work with global stakeholders, which makes the role very dynamic. Lately, I collaborated a lot with the primary team, it’s extremely interesting to hear about their projects all over the world, the impact that those people have made is very inspiring.

What do you need to be good at in your role and what do you enjoy about it? Building strong relationships with both candidates and hiring managers is definitely the core of my job. I spend a lot of time on the phone, making sure people feel heard and aligned. I also focus on improving recruitment processes and outcomes. I like seeing people thrive especially junior profiles. I love being involved early in someone’s career and watching them grow into confident professionals. One opportunity can genuinely change someone’s life, and ACT really fosters this.

Is there a moment you’re particularly proud of? Some of my proudest moments came during challenging times, when things didn’t go as planned but we still delivered as a team. Those moments taught me the most and really shaped my career here. What’s a key lesson you’ve learned here? Everyone is human, no matter their role or level. People usually mean well. Learning to take a step back and keep perspective helped me grow a lot. How do you see your impact on ACT? I’ve been part of ACT’s growth from around 200 to 600 employees. Supporting that scale-up both globally and on campus was intense but rewarding. Knowing I played a part in that journey makes me proud.

What makes ACT special to you? The entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, the action-driven culture, and the short decision lines. You’re given a lot of freedom and trust early on, which allows you to grow fast.

What keeps you at ACT today? The people, the impact, and the constant evolution of the company. There are always new things to learn here, and it's a good combination of challenge and opportunity. Mostly, I really feel that I can have my own way of working, which is very important for me.
Finally, what advice would you give to future ACT colleagues? Ask questions, take initiative, and treat everyone with respect — the same way you would like to be treated yourself.
